Athens digital film festival

On this occasion, i did not work as much because it was a film festival in squere one, displaying different short films from around the world, i took some pictures and enjoyed the food provided for the guests and staff. I met different people from different faculties and realised the importance of networking. After the event i uploaded all the pictures on the culture mundi facebook page for every one to view.

International women’s day

They say women are the cream of society, the mothers of mankind whose presence brings more than comfort but assures endurance in the human race. Yet even these words fall short of illustrating the true essence of the woman and her place in a society increasingly relying on her to raise and supervise the development of children and the very values, which keep the family and community unbroken.

For this day i was interviewing people and helped my colleague record interviews from different guests and they was good food for the evening too.

But domesticity is more than what a woman can contribute to the world and today’s women have advanced the stakes in global involvement to great heights, pushing efforts driven by their antecedents to new levels, breaking ground in every sphere of human development.

Observed on the 8th of march every year, International women’s day comes to both recognize and galvanize these achievements and endeavours putting women at the fore of the global advancement cycle. Commemorating this important event at the Coventry University, culturae mundi motivated a string of activities that equally paid homage to the aesthetic beauty of the woman, her immense potential, energy and greater responsibility in society.

And so international women’s day commemorated under the aegis of the united nations every year in march, comes to advocate for rights where they are non-existent, resources were they are needed and most importantly solidarity and support for every woman in the world.

European day

Image

For this event i worked as a photographer again beacause all the media producers were working on the same event. i enjoy taking photographs during events because i get to see what other people don’t see and i love capturing emotions and moments. The advantage side of it is that, i get to use different cameras and i learn new technics and skills from my peers everyday, although some of it i figure it out my self. On this day i also got to learn about european people in general and one thing they have in common is drinking beer, you got to love european people.

Christmas party

This was last year 2013, where Culture Mundi organised a party for coventry university students before every one left for christmas. It was an amaizing  party, i was the venue photographer for the event and i enjoyed taking many portraits of the event. Being a photographer is great because you have an eye for things most people don’t pay attention to, my work is to lay back and capture those moments. I like to see peoples reactions when the see a picture of them selves having fun and they don’t know exactly when it was taken. One of the key skills of being a great photographer is to be creative and observant while capturing images, don’t just take the picture but also think of the composition of the picture, film makers like to call it mise en scene. I believe that Camera angle, lighting and composition is what makes a beautiful picture and most beautiful picture speak for them selve, most of the time you don’t have to use an editing software to make the look more beautiful.

The Moon Festival

The moon festival is a chinese event it was also organised by coventry university students and culture Mundi to celebrate music, food and entertainment.

it was great experince, i worked with new people made contacts where possible. I was the main camera oparator for the night, incharge of recording the whole show and capturing interviews. The following week I spent time editing the footage and made sure it was perfect and interesting for the viewers.

The aim is to bring different cultures together while celebrating their diversity, to enrich in particular the experience for international students in the UK from a social perspective but also, for the team of students managing the programme — their employability.

In 2013, around 1700 students participated in cultural events on campus and in the city and more than 100 were directly involved in the Culturae Mundi management team and volunteered at the events.

International music night

13th April 2014

A night of music, melodious songs and resonant drum beats touching every continent and culture will possibly stay in the memory of all those who witnessed it, without a break. The real message of this night is global unity and multicultural harmony yet as tradition goes its not expressed in words but through music.

For this event i was working hand in hand with another camera oparator to capture footage from different angles of the event to make it look professional and to give it that live event look. i learnt how to communicate effectively and share my ideas. it has been a great experince to network and teamwork with different media producers.

ts truly amazing how cultures unite via music producing a singular effect portrayed in how one song from a distant corner of the world can affect the entire globe. At culturae mundi, the quest to unify in diversity and advance cultural experiences is never ending which is why the international music night coming at the close of the term for Easter break becomes the icing on the cake sampling the best entertainment the university has to offer.
